Duyên Peacock feather pattern inspired by the original “Peacock” Hàng Trống's folk paintings. Hàng Trống's folk painting art of Vietnam was born in the 16th century.
The image of a peacock with its colorful tail is a familiar icon of art from ancient times, with the implication of symbolizing a regal life and power.
According to Feng Shui, it is believed that peacock feathers can absorb energy from heaven and earth, therefore, it is recommended to the usage of balancing the yin and yang elements.
In Hàng Trống traditional painting art, “Peacock” uses a combination of two images, the peacock and the peony. “The peacock” in Vietnamese is a homonym with the word “fame”. Peony is a type of crimson flower with many large spreading petals, it is also considered a precious flower. To sum it up, the picture has the meaning of congratulation for achieving fame and fortune.
